Hydrogen transformation leader with deep automotive experience across the UK and Europe. Focused on turning hydrogen from early ambition and pilot projects into commercially scalable deployment across transport infrastructure and energy systems.
Over the last decade I have helped lead hydrogen mobility development at Toyota GB.
I sold both the first Toyota hydrogen vehicle outside Japan and every one deployed in the UK, helping establish and grow the sector from initial adoption. I also initiated the fuel cell Hilux program now progressing from a UK developed prototype to production, a global first in hydrogen powered commercial vehicle deployment.
I’ve led and contributed to over 10 national and international programmes worth hundreds of millions of pounds securing over £5 million in funding and delivering large scale deployment.
My experience combines hydrogen strategy, zero emission mobility and energy transition across the full ecosystem. I’ve worked across all major powertrains (HEV, PHEV, BEV and hydrogen), whilst shaping OEM strategy and collaborating on infrastructure development and government policy. This has enabled early commercialisation of Hydrogen mobility in the UK.
I work at the centre of the UK Hydrogen ecosystem working with government, industry and academia, and have chaired both the UKH2 mobility and the SMMT Hydrogen task-force helping shape national strategy, transport decarbonisation and deployment pathways.
My work has been recognised through industry awards including alternative fuels champion 2020 and citations in peer reviewed publications including from the Royal Society and the Royal Academy of Engineering. I continue to lead through public speaking, thought leadership and policy development helping accelerate hydrogen from early adoption to large scale deployment.
